 It all starts with my upbringing by the sea and my grandparents who are my inspiration for the label and who pretty much raised me. 

The smell of sea salt, glistening seashells by the sun-kissed shore, witnessing the smiles and the joy and the playfulness of my Grandmother and Grandfather each and every time they took my sister and I to the ocean are how it all began.

I fondly remember seeing my Grandmother, who I am named after, swimming in her gorgeous vintage swimsuits at the rock pool by our home, her body glistening from the sun hitting the water around her, smiling at me when I was very young.

When I began to channel the journey of this label, I asked who it is and what it is that gave me this connection, where did it all begin? This deep affinity for pearls and my innate connection to the ocean? The memories of my grandparents and the sea and their relationship to the ocean are the foundations of such.

When I create my jewellery, I see and feel my gorgeous, poetic memories of my 20 something year old self walking amongst the glittery, pebbly beaches in the Aegean Sea by my Grandfathers family residence, or simply looking out from his balcony and seeing the mountains behind me and the ocean and in front of me - like a pearl sitting within two sides of a Mother of Pearl Shell. Whole. Calm. At home. In-between Ocean and Earth. Like the Pearls and Gold I use in my ring designs.

When I began creating these pieces of, oceanic jewellery, I fondly remember showing my Grandmother my rings that I had made a few days before and some pearls that had arrived at her house from the post for me to create with. She responded, "they look like something I bought when I was 40" and lead me into her bedroom to show me the exact pearls I had in my hand, strung in a gorgeous, twisted necklace, the necklace I am wearing below, and in her draw. Sitting in her draw, were also an abundance of other pearl pieces of jewellery from her collection, a collection of beautiful, vintage pearls that I had never seen before and truly the largest I had ever seen a woman own! I remember thinking and mentioning to her at the time ‘wow, this is where I get it from! From you Yiayia.’ I said smiling in my heart.

My bonds to pearls and the ocean aren't just memory. It is in my lineage. It is in my blood and deeply in my heart.

I am so excited to share these intentional pieces with you and to allow these pieces to be anchoring points back to your connection to the waters upon which we were carried in as babies before birth, back to the ancient feminine mysteries of water, back to the healing waters and magic of the ocean and back to lineages that you to may have with your loved ones and ancestors.
